What Happens When Dissolving 0.0234g of salt into 1 Litre of Water?

It sounds like a small amount, doesn't it?

If you poured that fraction of a gram of table salt (NaCl) into a full litre of water, you would probably think: nothing.

You could not taste it, you certainly could not see it.

But to an Aquilaria tree, it means something.

This extremely dilute solution is scientifically precise, equivalent to only 0.0234g per litre. It is the key ingredient we use after the traditional Red Hot Iron Spear treatment.

Why this specific, tiny amount? Because our research has shown that this moderate concentration creates the perfect level of targeted stress in the tree. It is enough to cultivate the specific microbial partners (like Basidiomycota and Actinobacteria) that generate the highly complex fragrant compounds in the wood, but not so much that it causes severe toxicity or kills the tree.

In short: when 0.0234 gram of salt meets 1 litre of water and an Aquilaria tree, you don't get salt water.

You get the scientifically optimised formula for producing The Warming Sun Oud Oil. How do we know?

A new woody oud scent: The Warming Sun

"The first time I encountered this oil, I admit, I was sceptical. Like many of you, I have spent years- and a substantial fortune- chasing the true, authentic scent of Oud."

"For a collector, finding that genuine aroma is the ultimate challenge. I had purchased countless bottles from around the world, hoping for the pure, deep, complex heart of the 'Wood of God.' But time after time, the oil was either diluted, too sharp, or too synthetic. I had become convinced that the genuine article- the Oud of legend- was impossible to find outside of a high-security vault". (from Mohammad, one of my customers)

The Breakthrough: A Spark of Nature - Science

This is why my world changed when I discovered our method. I am here to offer you the solution to all those problems.

Let me break down what goes into The Warming Sun:

It takes 10 years to grow the Aquilaria tree, 2 years to intentionally create the Agarwood, and 168 hours to "cook" this oil. And that is just the beginning.

Agarwood is formed around wounded holes in Aquilaria trees when they secrete their defence mechanism. There are many ways to wound a tree, but only one way is scientifically engineered to produce this depth of scent.

The 'Red Hot Iron Spear' - The first Scientific Secret

First, a skilled worker ("striker") heats iron spears to scorching temperatures- up to 750°C. He then plunges these hot rods through each tree one by one. This is our "fire drill."

Many growers have given this up because it takes so much time and effort. The strikers must be highly skilled; a tiny mistake could kill the tree, wasting a decade of growth. Imagine growing a tree for twelve years and killing it in one strike!

But why are we still doing it? Because it makes the aroma of this oil like no other on the market.

The Crucial Enhancement: SALT- Our second secret, our 'Invisible Partner'

The pure heat/injury technique alone is good, but the scientific proof shows it can be superior. Our breakthrough is this: right after the heat and trauma, we precisely infuse the wound site with a specific, moderate salt solution (0.4 mmol). This isn't a harsh chemical attack. It is a calculated stressor that cultivates the ideal microbial environment for the production of fragrant compounds.

(0.4 mmol per L = 0.023376g per L)

This dual-treatment (heat/injury-specific brine solution) achieves two things at once: it starts the natural agarwood creation over two years, and it cultivates the perfect microbial partners (like Basidiomycota and Actinobacteria) to generate the highly complex scent compounds. Scientific research confirms this combined process significantly increases the volume of essential oil produced- and by a margin that is 2 to 3 times higher than the old, fire-drill-only method.

The Reward: Brain-Stimulating Aroma

The reward is a distinctive, "brain-stimulating" aroma. As soon as you open the bottle, the volatile compounds vaporise. Within an arm's reach, you can smell the Oud instantly.

Take a small dab from the bottle on your wrist or a cotton pad.

The magic happens the moment you take a sniff and inhale deeply. A sensational, pleasant feeling washes through your nose. This is what the chemical analysis confirms:

  • The Warmth: High concentrations of Chromones (specifically 2-(2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)ethyl) chromone and 2-(2-Phenylethyl) chromone).
  • The Depth: Earthy, nuanced Sesquiterpenes.
  • The Balsam: The highly-prized Agarospirol (an Agarotetrol).

The accord includes warm woody, a hint of spice and herbaceous, subtle floral. After several hours, it dries down to balsamic vanillic ouddy. Warning: it is super addictive.

The reason You Cannot Find It at a Department Store

You see, many people said they loved Oud (Agarwood oil), but the truth is, most have never smelled the real thing alone, especially in the Western world (Australia and USA included). They wish they could isolate the "oud" scent they fleetingly enjoy in niche perfumes. They heard of this so-called "Wood Of God," and tried to get their hands on it. They tried the department stores even many niche stores. But they were still not able to try it.

It Is Challenging to Get Your Hands on Authentic Agarwood Oil for These Frustrating Reasons:

  • Logistical Nightmare Oud (Agarwood) is mainly available in Southeast Asia, and its trade is closely controlled (CITES Appendix II). Getting it onto Western shelves involves months of approvals and international logistics.
  • Retail Staff Knowledge Showing these Agarwood products to the public requires special knowledge from the retail staff to consult consumers, and that expertise is rare.
  • The Consistency Myth Being a natural essential oil, its scent profile changes depending on the batch. Big stores demand quality consistency. Unfortunately, true oud oil will vary slightly with each batch, which big chains refuse to risk.
  • The Stock Control Factor: Retail thefts are on the rise. What happens if a shoplifter leaves the store with many bottles of Oud without paying? For context, if 1 litre is stolen, I know it is rare, but that is at least a 5-figure worth of stock missing. No store manager wants that risk.

This combination of risk, demand for consistency, and cost means that with the limited time and particular methods required to distil this woody aroma, there is simply not enough to distribute it on a large scale.

But it does not mean you cannot try it. You can get it here

Order Now

Because of the laborious process, we can only produce a minimal amount (only 900 g a month). We simply do not distribute to any big stores. For this particular Warming Sun Oud, there is simply NOT enough Oud to do so.

If you are still reading, I guess you like what you see so far, and I know you want to try it out.

Here Is My Proposal:

You now know the extraordinary length and scientific rigour that goes into this oil- 12 years of growth and dedication, culminating in a few drops of pure essence. You won't find this complexity or this story anywhere else. It is easy, add to cart and checkout. You will be glad that you do.

Only available here at Grandawood

Safety - Constituents

According to the renowned Essential Oil Safety book, Agarwood oil is not known to have any hazards or issues when applied neatly or topically on the skin. The oil is a complex natural product, with key fragrant constituents including Chromones and Sesquiterpenes. The cost is high because it is one of the most expensive aromatic raw materials, commanding a price 10-1An 15 times higher than Jasmine Absolute.

To be extra safe, please apply a small dab to your elbow or wrist to check for sensitivity. If you do have sensitivity, you can dilute it with a carrier oil like jojoba.

Do NOT drink. Do NOT ingest. External use on the skin only.
