Agarwood leaves (tea/ herbal infusion): A Cup of of genuine benefit

This is not a normal tea and definitely no snake oil, no detox, no slim tea, no weight-loss claimed with zero scientific evidence. This is not a new invention either but has been used for decades. These are leaves from Wood Of God.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic practice medicine derived from natural plants, fruits, herbs and vegetables to promote a healthy lifestyle which was backed with scientific evidence. Researchers show agarwood leaves (consumed as tea or herbal infusion) offered the below benefits:

  • Treating pain, fever and many other illnesses. Afiffudden (et, al 2015) showed that compound of Acetaminophen or 4’-hydroxyacetanilide is found in Aquilaria (agarwood) leaves
  • Counteractinghigh levels of glucose in the blood. These findings suggest that Iriflophenone 3-C-β-glucoside (IPG) is active in lowering fasting blood glucose with potency comparable to that of insulin (Pharmacogn Mag. 2015 Jan-Mar; 11(41): 82–89.)

Thymelaea hirsuta (Thymelaeaceae family) ,one of the species which create agarwood when infected plays a role in showing antihyperglycemic effect (Journal of Diabetes, 2013)
