" It's amazing how potent the oud oil sweet herbal spice was in the sample pack originally when I bought it all those months ago. I'm assuming that it might have only been extracted recently at the time when I first received it? I have quite a few different samples from different vendors and I had never smelt anything in my life that was as strong as that one in the first 2 weeks. It mellowed out a lot after a month or so. In fact it might even be the most mellow oud in my whole collection right now. It went from strongest in collection to most mellow in only a few months. Now it's become thick/solid :) I couldn't help myself but to purchase a 10ml after I saw it go solid! I haven't had any of your other oils turn solid yet (I'm sure some will with time) and I think I bought samples from almost all the cultivated and wild oils on the website. This one seems to be aging much quicker than all the others. That's definitely something that I look for with an oud that I would wear regularly to work (and of course decent price).
The 10ml has a similar smell to the mellowed out sample however is still quite viscous. It will be interesting to see if the 10ml turns solid in a similar time in that vial or takes much longer. Have any of your samples turned solid yet or do you measure them out when people buy them? I doubt that larger vials go solid as quickly as a small sample bottles from my own personal experience.
This is a very smooth one which is good for wearing to work. Woody. It's not complicated or overstated yet has a very satisfying base note to my nose. Whilst very mellow to me it's always interesting seeing peoples faces and reactions at work when they smell it. Oud sometimes has some crazy pheromone type effect on people who aren't familiar when they smell it. You can just see them sniffing the air and twitching their noses wondering what the hell it is, some people are really drawn to it and want to come in very close to you. It's like it calms them. Some people I can see are completely shocked. I don't care what anyone else thinks ultimately because I like it! haha"
